Holiday Blues
29 November 2007 Winter is sucking my creative spirit dry. And it's not fun. All I want to do in the morning is hide under the duvet and sleep. It's a nasty habit to oversleep because you end up feeling groggy all day long. I so don't like that feeling.Decorating for Christmas doesn't even excite me. And that's a scary thought! Who doesn't get excited hanging pretty lights and colorful ornaments around the house? I should hope it's just a phase and that I will revert to my giddy self when the calendar hits December which is like in 2 days. The Christmas magazines and craft ideas aren't helping either. What's wrong with me?
I'm hitting the stores tomorrow to get wrapping paper and ribbons hoping it will trigger the jolly holiday vibe. But I'll probably end up annoyed getting through the throng of curious people hanging around to see Sinterklaas and the Zwarte Pieten who will be parading all over the mall while giving out presents (in the form of candy) to the kids, who end up littering them on the floor which you'll most likely crush with your shoes. Those little things tend to make you slip if you're not careful enough. I meant the candy, not the kids.
Ack, I need to snap out of this!
* The only consolation I have in this state I'm in is that I resort to reading and I truly enjoy it. I also started a habit of writing down phrases that I like. I can't believe I haven't done that before.
Life of Pi is a very interesting read.
