Sweet Surprise

My mailbox has been filled with lots of good stuff lately which are enough for a week's worth of blog entries. Aside from the postcards I received from postcrossers which I have yet to photograph, these cute books and a couple of online purchases, a box of creative pretties greeted me yesterday morning which came all the way from Charlottesville.

Jess made these origami boxes herself. They're pretty nifty, aren't they? I have been looking for packaging materials for my jewelries and this got me thinking of making my own boxes for the jewelries I'll be selling in the shop. I didn't only get presents but I got me some ideas, too! How cool is that?

She also included postcards from Virginia showing a scenic view of Charlottesville where she lives. They're now kept in the box of my postcard collection.

"Virginia is for lovers" is the official state motto.

The boxes alone were presents on their own but I was in for more surprises when I opened them. They were filled with cute strawberry buttons, fruity erasers, flower ribbon and bags of yogi tea. I really really like them! They are oh so lovely! I already have projects in mind for the buttons and ribbons. I'm gonna try the tea tonight, maybe it will help me fall asleep on time.

Thanks Jess for the sweet surprise!

Thanks for making such nice pictures of the stuff I sent hehe. I'm so glad they didn't get crushed...afterall, it's just paper. I didn't know if I was too bubblewrap happy either hehe

Let me know if you like the tea. Either you love it or hate it...it's quite a hodgepodge of herbs.
You're very welcome! That's the best photo I could make of them. Not much light here lately and I'm still using my phone's camera. lol

Haha, I don't think they'll be crushed even without the bubblewrap. The box was very sturdy! :)

I tried the tea and it was okay. Not so much into mint taste but I drank the whole cup. lol It was not bad.

Thanks a lot for the lovely stuff, Jess! I really like them. :)

Wow, Jess is so talented! All I can do with origami paper is cut it into rectangles and stick it on stuff, hehe! Hope you're well, Gracey!
That she is, indeed!
I'm doing well, thanks! Just didn't feel like blogging. Hehe.

hello gracey! all plans for the transit in NL had to be cancelled, for one, i could not wait any longer for another transit visa application. hopefully, we get my residence permit sorted out soon, then perhaps we can arrange to visit NL this year. i had a crazy schedule before i left, and for my first week here, i had so many sleeping to do. we'll catch up with each other soon, ok!
take care of you, and what a beautiful loot you have there, lucky you!
No worries! I understand that your schedule must have been jam-packed with all the preparations you had to do. I've been there. :) We'll meet soon. You're not too far away anymore. Yay! Enjoy your new home and being with KJ! xoxo

hi gracey! i've received your postcard, thank you so much! yay, dutch looks hard, but thanks for the pronunciation guide. i tried pronouncing some words... it really sounds foreign to me. this is so exciting though. :D thank you very much. I'll carefully put this in my album.

hope you're having a great day!
Yay! It was sent later than I intended because I kept forgetting about it, but I'm glad it got to you fast.

It looks hard at first and confusing! But, once you get used to it, it's quite easy. There are a lot of words that are actually almost similar to english (like tafel - table, stoel - stool). It's easier than german! Haha.

Thanks! Yeah it'd be great to go there - with the husband, though! lol

they are so cute! the boxes are so lovely but if i'm going to use them i think i'll have a hard time trying to find a gift to put inside that's prettier than the box!
