My Hairstyles in 4 years

This was the time when I was bold enough to get my hair dyed with a striking color. This was four years ago. They said I looked Japanese in this hairstyle and I got complimented a lot for it but my hair suffered from all the chemicals which took me two years to remedy. The red turned orange after a month so the fun was short-lived. It also cost an arm and leg to get it done but now I know what I look like with red hair. Will not do this again though. (I think!)

This was also my blemish-free and thin-eyebrows phase and ideal weight year.

Then I tried out having bangs again after soooooo many years. I used to dislike it when I was young but my mom insisted I get it because she didn't like seeing my face covered with hair. The hairdresser didn't think it was a good idea to get a thicker fringe because my hair split in the middle. My hair is thin so it didn't look good until it was long enough to set aside. I didn't want to argue with her so I kept mum and let her have her way.

The zits started appearing. Not subtly either! The scars are still there. *sigh* And the pounds started adding. This picture was taken in the city hall during my integration course graduation.

I've always had short hair since I was little. It was until I turned 20 when I decided to keep it long. My boyish haircuts were over and I was getting acquainted with my girly side. My goal was to have it reach my waistline and keep it braided but I never get to that. I always wanted a change so I had it chopped off and bleached then dyed red. It wasn't fun after that because as you can see on the right picture, the orange-y color remained (even after 3 black hair dye sessions and haircut) and I had major split-end problems so I had to cut it to shoulder length.

Now, I'm contemplating on getting a haircut - am still not sure which hairstyle to go for but I already have something in mind. Will show you once I've made up my mind and visit the hair salon.

Did you know that I shaved my head three times, had spikey and bob haircuts? Oh, yes! I was not so girly back then - friends who are not so up to date with me give me a hard time when they hear that I crochet and love pink. In their eyes, I'm a totally different person and I don't know if that's a good thing. lol My colors were black and dark blues - so opposite to what I like right now. I guess that's what marriage did to me. It turned me into the girl/woman that I am. :)

gracey! omigod! i love your hair its so straight! your red phase wasn't so bad, cool nga e! but i agree about the zits and bangs. did you ever have that hairstyle in the 80s wherein they curled the bottom part of your hair then spiked your bangs? hahaha! that was hilarious!
Hahaha! I definitely had the bottom curl and hated it. There were no fringe spiking, thank God! lol

I used to hate the straightness of my hair because the curlers don't work and it's just so straight. -_-

wow....great hair adventures. :)
I love the anime hair...cool

I had a haircut last week and changed my hair color to reddish brown. It was awesome kaso hirap to maintain pag mahaba na...di ba?

TC gracey. Love your pic your cute :)
Heehee, thanks Jeanny! The anime look simply just came out. I flicked through the hairstyle book in the salon with a western woman sporting the 'do and pointed it to the hairdresser. It just turned out anime-ish because of my very asian face. I still like that hairstyle but am scared to do that to my hair again.

Definitely mahirap to maintain when it's long kasi you really have to spend time in the shower shampooing it good and all that. Tsaka prone to split ends yan so once it shows, have it trimmed right away.

whew, i knew you that long already because i have actually followed those hairstyles! :) my favorite would be the "fringes"!
you are quite brave and adventurous, i must say. i've never colored my hair, i'm just too sissy for that.
i'm lookin' forward to see your new 'do!
Wow, it's been that long already? I'm always adventurous with my hair. I've had haircuts that I came up with especially in highschool/college. It's my escape for comfort and it works all the time.

I might bring the fringes back!

I like the long hair better! ;) Looks fab - and in great condition.

....I can't believe you shaved your head. LOL
Oh believe it! lol.. once I've found a picture, I'll post it here. Didn't really have so many pics of myself then. It was also the same time I had a tongue-piercing which my mom had me removed. :( Rebel much? Hahaha.

I do miss my long hair. *sniff*

I think you look cute in any hairstyle! Honestly!

I used to cut my hair with pinking shears when I got depressed, and in college, I must have tried every hair color possible (yes, even pink, my favorite) to match my contact lenses. I got severe hair damage after that, and my hair grew thin and baby soft. I still can't make it grow thicker than it is now but at least there are no bald spots (yay!) and for that, I am thankful.
Women and their hairstyles, how crazy can we get?
Thanks KittyMama!

I know the feeling! I always retreat to the salon when I'm not feeling too good and I always leave happy. Wow, you were much into hair color and pink! I'd like to see that. :)

Hair dye = hair suicide. But we can't really say no to it sometimes, can we?

Oh you're so cute that any style would suit you! :D I love your look now with the ponytail. It suits the warm and gentle personality I know you have. My two cents!

And oh I had really short spiky hair too! But I grew it out because it felt too edgy for me. It was fun while it lasted though. Haha!
Awww *blush* :)

I want to see you with spiky hair!! When was this?

Gracey, you are too cute! Thanks for sharing the pictures! I like your hair long too, it's very pretty!
Aww thanks JQ! I miss my long hair.. I think I'm keeping it long now but with bangs!
